Welcome to Children's Religious Education at Sacred Heart Church We offer a variety of opportunities for our children to receive instruction and grow in faith. However, no parish can ever replace the parents as the primary teachers of their children, nor can a parish ever replace the home as the primary center where religious formation takes place. The CRE at Sacred Heart Parish supports parents in their parental responsibility as the first and most effective teachers of their children. It does not take their place as the first teachers and exemplars of Catholicism. We believe that faith formation and religious education of children is a three-fold effort by parents, parish, and catechists. To that end, it is our goal to help the children grow in their appreciation of the value of liturgy, prayer, service, and community in their development of Christian love. |
